Halloween Ariel Seashell Bra

By |October 15th, 2013|

If you saw my post from yesterday, then you know my daughter wants to be Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” for Halloween this year.  And of course, she wants to be Ariel in her mermaid form – the kid always makes it extremely easy on me…

Halloween Ariel Mermaid Tail

By |October 15th, 2013|

My darling daughter recently announced that she wanted to be Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” for Halloween this year.

“Sure, Sweetheart! What dress do you want to wear? The blue one with the big bow when she first turns human?  Or the pink princess one?”

That’s when I got the look from my five-going-on-fifteen-year-old that clearly stated how slow she thinks I am.  “No Mom, I want to be a mermaid.”  Ah.  Yes.  Of course.  The hardest costume known to man.  Because unfortunately, I’m not nearly strong enough to shlub around a fifty-pound kindergartner when she gets tired during trick-or-treating when she can’t walk properly.

I bought 5 yards of crisp, new, bright white lace for a child size tablecloth recently, but I really wanted to achieve the antiquey, vintage feel without the antiquey, vintage price.  Using some common household supplies, I was able to get the aged look I was going for.

The letter of the day on Sesame Street this morning was “M”.  Needless to say, Maddy had fun announcing words that start with that letter on the way to preschool.

“Monkey!  Magic!  Monster!”

“Maddy’s mommy is a matching maniac!”  Ok, I admit: […]
