2/27/2012: Featured #1 on iPhone. #2 on iPad!! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!! Check it out here.  ^_^

I’m blown away sometimes by the fact that my three-year-old was seemly born with the ability to pick up a new piece of technology and immediately know how to use it.  It must be instinctual.

Or maybe she’s a superhero with osmosis super powers.  ^_^

Either way, I’m sure I’m not alone with the fact that my smartphone and tablet have been overwhelmed and conquered by children’s apps.  I’m constantly asking myself, “Where did this app come from?  I’m sure that I didn’t download ‘Fruit Ninja’…” (Although I have to admit that I kept that particular game.  It’s kind of addicting.)  =}

The hubs and I quickly came to realize that this is a lost cause – there is absolutely no way to keep Madison’s grubby little paws off our new technology.  And to be quite honest, I don’t really want to anyway.  After all: this is the way of the future, so why not let her immerse herself in this world and get a head-start in what’s sure to be a vital way of life for her generation?

Mr. Shabby Beach Nest and I recognized almost immediately that there aren’t many eBooks or games that are geared towards little ones.  Sure, there are kids apps, but not a whole lot that satisfy my need to steer her towards educational and moral entertainment.

It was while complaining of this fact to Mr. SBN that the idea for “Bluebird and Coyote” was born.  You see, Alex began telling me of a time long ago when he belonged to the boy scouts, and how they used to tell tales around the campfire that actually had morals they could learn from (imagine that!).  ^_^  “Bluebird and Coyote” was one of those stories.

And so we got to work creating our own version of that memorable legend.

“Bluebird and Coyote” is now available on the Apple iTunes store for the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad.  We plan on having it for the Nook, Kindle, and Android soon (but because this is our first app, we’re still learning the programming, so it might take a sec).  ^_-   You can check it out here if you’d like – and be assured that you’re money is going to a worthy cause if you download it: helping us save for Maddy’s college education!!  =}

I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear what you think of all this.  Is there any ideas you’d like to see in apps for your children?  Any advice you can give us while we navigate these new waters?  Thank you SO much for checking this out, everyone!!  Keep an eye out, as we have more stories (and even some games) in the works.

Until next time, lovely readers!!
